Blue Grill the signature restaurant at Yas Island Rotana welcomes on board the new speciality chef Zlatko Gersak who will be in charge of the kitchen operation of this chic restaurant.

A Croatian national, Chef Zlatko started his career at the age of 17 when he discovered his passion for cooking. Chef Zlatko worked previously with different international chains like Renaissance, Hilton and Le Meridien that helped in shaping his culinary experience. Prior to joining Yas Island Rotana; he was working at the Kempinski Resort Amman. Commenting on his appointment chef Zlatko said:
“I am delighted to join Blue Grill’s team and be part of a successful operation, the steakhouse has been established and have a great reputation in the market and I look forward to working with the team on creative menus and promotions tailored to our guests and patrons and bring the restaurant up to the next level.”
The steaks are the main reason people visit Blue Grill. It even says so in the restaurant’s menu, where you will find American certified Angus prime beef, Australian grain-fed beef and Australian wagyu. The restaurant has a modern theme with dark wooden tables, industrial – style chandeliers and a large show kitchen which allows guests to watch the chefs in action – an entertaining sight when they cook steaks over an open flame. With smooth jazz beats and dimmed lighting; it is a great romantic escape for meat lovers.
Commenting on Zlatko’s appointment, the executive chef of Yas Island Rotana & Centro Yas Island Darren Andow said: “I am pleased to welcome Chef Zlatko to the team, with his experience and knowledge I am confident that he will bring new ideas and a unique touch to the well established Blue Grill. The classy steakhouse opened his doors in October 2009 and with the persistence of the team and intensive training we reached where we are today, our diners most of them who are repeated customers know they are in for a treat.”
