Abu Dhabi, 10 June 2012: Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (ADNIC), a leading insurance company in the UAE, and Yas Marina Circuit, announced today the official launch of the second “ADNIC Yas Run”, the internationally certified 10km running event to be held at Yas Marina Circuit.
The 10km ADNIC Yas Run will be held on 24 November 2012, just three weeks after the 2012 Formula 1TM Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Once again it will be a day to night event with runners following the same route as F1 champions around the iconic track finishing under floodlights.
Participants will have the option of registering for the 10km run either as individuals or as a team of four, who complete 2.5km each in a team relay to complete the 10km course. The event will also feature a 3km run for children aged between 12 and 15 and a 1km run for children aged between 8 and 11 to allow participants of all ages to take part in this run.
The first ever ADNIC Yas Run was held in November 2011 and saw over 1,500 adult runners take part on the internationally certified 10km course along with 800 children competing in the 3km and 1km races.
All runners will be issued with timing chips to clock their official race time as there will be category prizes for the individual events, as well as for the first three people to cross the finish line.

Emma Phillips, the winning female of the ADNIC Yas Run 2011 (winning time: 00:38:43) has just returned to the UAE following taking part in the UAE Healthy Kidney 10km race in New York. Free entry to the 2012 New York race and flights courtesy of Etihad Airways, were Emma’s prize for winning the ADNIC Yas Run 2011 along with receiving the ADNIC Golden Runner Trophy. Emma commented, “Winning in Abu Dhabi was amazing and winning my age group in New York was a dream come true. I have been running for my whole life and I would encourage anyone to have a go and enter the next ADNIC Yas Run. It’s about taking part and challenging yourself. It doesn’t matter if it takes30 minutes or 2 hours to get around the track – it’s a truly awesome experience in great running conditions”.
